Early Learners

Children start to develop early literacy skills beginning at birth, and reading together with children continues to be one of the most powerful ways to develop early literacy skills. Join us for energetic, engaging, and fun storytimes that will facilitate early literacy experiences and give you ideas for new ways to engage your child in early literacy practices.

Upcoming Storytimes

Weekly Storytimes

One Monday a month @ 10 AM-10:45. A storytime and cooking class mixed together. Registration is required for each session. Siblings cannot be accommodated due to limited supplies.

Tuesdays @ 10-10:30 AM, Nov. 5-Dec. 10. Please call 781-942-6705 to register for this fun-filled six week storytime class.

Tuesdays @ 6:30-7 PM, Nov. 5-Dec. 10 Join RPL Librarians for a six-week Babytime storytime designed just for our youngest audience! Registration is required.

 

Wednesdays @ 10-10:30 AM, Nov. 6-Dec. 11. Registration is full.

Saturdays @ 10-10:30 AM. Join us for an active story and song time especially designed for the under 5s and their caregivers. Stories, fingerplays, and plenty of music and motion to get the wiggles out. This storytime is drop in, no registration required.

Nov. 18 @ 10 AM. A storytime and paint exploration. Registration is required.

Early Literacy Concerts and Special Events

Second Friday of each month, 10 AM. Join our longtime friend Peter Sheridan for a musical celebration. We’ll rock and roll, laugh, and dance around like no one’s watching! Kids ages 0-5 and their caregivers are welcome. No registration necessary.

Friday, October 25 at 10 AM. Join RPL Librarians for a trick-or-treat storytime around the library. Please wear your costumes and be ready to boogie oogie oogie with the best of the ghouls. No registration necessary.

Saturday, October 26 at 10 AM. The amazing musical duo Mara and Motoko are back! And this time things will be spooky. Please wear your Halloween costume and prepare to trick or treat after the concert. No registration necessary.

Friday, November 22 at 10 AM. Join Miss Julie for some songs on the ukelele, some egg shaker games, and some chances to sing along together! Music and Movement is best for toddlers but siblings are welcome. No registration necessary.

Last Friday of each month, 10 AM. Come have a colorful time playing with playdough! No registration required but please monitor age and allergies.

Dec. 20 & Jan. 17, 10 AM. Come dressed to the nines for a dancing snow party! No registration required.
