Healing Library

Our Healing Library contains kits that were created to be of help to individuals and families who are experiencing challenges or supporting someone who is. Each kit contains a variety of books selected to appeal to children, teens, and adults. Also included are information about local resources, suggested further readings, ideas for therapeutic activities, and a sharing journal. Look for the kits in our Health Nook, located in the turret next to the Research & Reader Services desk.

The Healing Library kits were developed with the support and guidance of the Reading Coalition for Prevention and Support, Reading Public School’s Behavioral Health department, and RESPOND, Inc.

The Healing Library was developed as part of the Reclaiming Your Story Civic Hub grant, graciously awarded through the Library Services & Technology Act (LSTA) Direct Grant Program and funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services. This project aims to amplify local voices and changemakers through the art of storytelling.
